This policy explains what information we collect when you use fengshui8 and how we use it.
Last updated: September 28, 2026
fengshui8 is a website about Feng Shui, Ba Zi and the I Ching, with free AI consultations and a product catalog. It is run by the operator named below ("we", "us"), who is responsible for your personal information:
We have not published a contact address yet, so there is at the moment no way to write to us about privacy, and we cannot act on the requests described below. We will publish one here and on our contact page. Until we do, please don't give fengshui8 any personal information you may later want to ask us about.
We collect information directly from you, and technical information automatically from your browser when you visit. We don't buy personal information from other companies.
When you create an account, we collect your first and last name, your email address and a password, which we store only as a one-way hash (we can't read it). If you save addresses in your account, we also keep them: name, street address, city, state or province, postal code, country and, if you add one, a phone number. We use this to run your account, keep you signed in and, once ordering opens, to fill in delivery details.
To answer a consultation, we process what you type into the chat and the details the consultation form asks for: your birth date, birth time, birth place and gender for Ba Zi (birth time and place are optional), or your question and the lines you cast for the I Ching.
If you're signed in, the consultation (the conversation and the details you entered) is saved to your account so you can come back to it. If you're not signed in, we don't store it: it stays in your browser tab until you leave the page.
When you ask to be notified about a product, we store your email address, the product, the language you were using and the date, and use them only to tell you when that product can be ordered.
If you subscribe, we store your email address and the date you subscribed, and use them only to send you news from fengshui8.
If you write a review, we store the name you enter, your rating and the title and text of the review. Reviews are checked before they're published and, once published, are visible to everyone, so please don't include contact details or other personal information in them.
If you email us, we keep your email address and your message so we can answer it.
Like most websites, our servers record technical information when you visit: your IP address, browser and device type, the pages requested, and the date and time. We use it to keep the site secure and working, for example to stop abuse with rate limits and to fix errors. These logs are kept for a limited period and are overwritten automatically.
We don't collect payment information: online ordering isn't open yet.
Consultation replies are written by AI models, not by a person. To generate them, we send the conversation and the details you entered in the consultation form to OpenRouter, a US-based service that passes each request on to an AI model provider. We use free models, and which provider answers can change from one message to the next, for example when a model is busy.
Please read this before you start a consultation: providers of free AI models may log the prompts and replies they receive and use them to improve or train their models. Their own terms and privacy policies govern that use, and we can't delete information once they hold it. So please don't include anything that identifies you or other people (such as full names, addresses or contact details), or anything you wouldn't want a third party to keep, such as health or financial details.
With each request, we also send OpenRouter our website's name and URL and a pseudonymous code derived from your account or IP address; the code lets OpenRouter detect abuse without revealing who you are. We don't attach your name, email address or IP address to the request.
Our admin tools show how many consultations an account has saved, not what they say. We only look at a saved consultation if you ask us to, or if we need to in order to investigate abuse or comply with the law.
We don't sell your personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising (as those terms are used in California law), and we don't use it for targeted advertising. We share it only with the service providers that run the site for us, and only as much as each one needs:
We may also disclose information if the law requires it; to protect the rights, property or safety of our visitors, ourselves or others; or to a successor if fengshui8 is sold or transferred, in which case this policy continues to apply to your information. Before we start using another service provider that handles personal information (for example, a payment provider when ordering opens), we'll add it to this list.
Our server and database are in Singapore. OpenRouter and Resend are based in the United States, and AI model providers may process requests in the United States or other countries. Your information is therefore processed outside the country where you live, including outside the United States and Canada, where privacy laws may differ from yours. While it is there, it may be accessible to the courts, law enforcement and national security authorities of those countries under their laws.
Deleted information can remain in our backups for a short time, until those backups are replaced on a rolling basis.
Wherever you live, you can ask us to:
Every email we send about "Notify me" or the newsletter will tell you how to unsubscribe. We have not published an address you could write to instead.
There is no address to send such a request to yet, so we cannot accept one today. Once we publish one under "Who we are" above, we'll answer requests within 30 days, and we won't charge you or treat you differently for exercising these rights. In the meantime you can delete saved consultations yourself in your account.
If we decline your request, you can ask us to reconsider by replying to our answer. You can also complain to a privacy regulator: in Canada, the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada or your provincial regulator (in Quebec, the Commission d'accès à l'information); in the United States, your state attorney general or, in California, the California Privacy Protection Agency.
We use only the cookies the site needs to work, with no analytics, advertising or third-party cookies, so there is no cookie banner:
fs_customer keeps you signed in to your account. It can't be read by scripts on the page and expires after 30 days or when you sign out.fs_admin does the same for the people who manage the site, and expires after 7 days or when they sign out.Your wishlist and cart are kept in your browser's local storage (fengshui_wishlist, fengshui_cart), on your own device. You can remove them at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser settings.
Because we don't track you across websites, browser signals such as Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track don't change how this site behaves: there is no tracking to switch off.
fengshui8 is not directed at children under 16, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from them. We have not published an address to report that to yet; once we do, we'll delete any such information.
We protect your information with measures such as encrypted HTTPS connections, passwords stored only as one-way hashes, sign-in cookies that scripts can't read, and access to our systems limited to the people who run the site. No website can be completely secure, though, so we can't guarantee the security of information you send us. If a breach affects your personal information, we'll notify you and the authorities where the law requires it.
We'll update this policy as fengshui8 changes, in particular before online ordering opens, when we'll add how we handle orders and payments. We'll post every update on this page with a new date. If a change significantly affects how we use information you've already given us, we'll tell you in advance by email or on the site.
Questions about this policy or your information? We have no contact channel open yet — our contact page says what is available in the meantime.
